The service was great, Sam was attentive, personable, well educated when it came to the menu and wines and did an excellent job. The food was superb but the focaccia with whipped ricotta and the roasted squash over squash mole were the stars of the show. If you are anywhere near St Louis you must stop and have a meal at Vicia. ”
“ Finally broke down and checked this place out. It's definitely a special occasion place; it's upscale and very elegant. The atmosphere was so...zen...I don't know how else to explain it. We loved the ambiance. The host was absolutely darling. We were 30 minutes early, and he was happy to seat us immediately (we had planned to hang at the bar until our reservation time). Our server was great. She was new, but we would have never known that had she not told us. She was professional, sweet, and funny. We did the tasting menu. I have the most boring palate, and I'm not a fan of exotic food, but I loved every plate that came out (except the sausage rigatoni...it was too spicy for my sissy taste). I did the bartender specials for cocktails, and, holy %#*€, they were outstanding. A beet cocktail? What? I hate beets. But no- this was amaaaazing. We were super impressed to learn that the general manager was one of the staff working there floor, running food, greeting patrons. So often, the managers are holed up in an office, but this one was right out there working. Highly, highly recommend trying this place out for a special occasion (or a random Friday, if you have a large amount of disposable income). We will absolutely return. ”
“ Our first time at the excellent establishment and it did not disappoint! Top tier restaurant with impeccable service, a brilliantly crafted menu, great drink options and a wonderful ambiance. From the beginning to the end, this an excellent experience. So many times, we go out and the menu is full of items I could easily cook at home. Not here - everything was creative and unique. Perfect for a foodie! Could easily become best dining experience in 25 for us! Went with the Let Us Cook For You with the wine pairing option. There was four of us at the table. This was an excellent way to enjoy Vicia. We were able to try so many options from the menu. And the wine pairings were spot on. Highlights of what we tasted: - golden beet tartare: (4.5/5) YES! So yummy and original. - focaccia with ricotta (4.5/5): the ricotta with the honey made this dish! So good! - albacore tuna sashimi (5/5): Perfect execution and incredibly tasty - mussels on the half shell (5/5): I am not a big mussels fan and this turned out to be the best bite of the night! Wow. I was shocked. - chicory salad (4.5/5): Really liked this salad. Bitter, bright, herby. Nice texture throughout. - cauliflower risotto (4.75/5): Second best bite of the night. Very good! - miso ocean trout (4.75/5): another fantastic dish. Lovely taste and texture - sticky toffee cake (4.5/5): this is giving Gordon Ramsey a run for his money (I would give Ramsey's version a slight edge) - Crepe Crème Brûlée (4.25/5): a very well executed dessert. Loved it. ”

“ Vicia is an absolutely incredible fine dining experience, with a focus on freshness and flavor. A good friend recommended this place, saying it is "life changing" and it gets pretty dang close to that high praise. The decor is modern and impeccable. There is so much attention to detail in everything they do, and you can tell they really care about quality and experience. The staff is friendly and thoughtful, and passionate about service. The menu changes up pretty frequently, so you can be sure there will always be something new for you to try. While you can now order individual items ala carte, I went for the Let Us Cool For You 3 course meal for $75, which is an ever changing sampling of the current menu, made differently for each guest. This was absolutely the perfect way to try out a bit of almost everything, with smaller portions of 6 appetizers, 3 mains, and 1 fantastic dessert. Some absolute highlights were the Ricotta Gnudi, fried oyster mushrooms, and the absolutely incredible crepe crepe brûlée. I could have eaten about 17 portions of each of those and still wanted more. There's also an outdoor wine garden that looks like a great spot to spend a warm night, so even if you're not up for a full fine dining experience, there's something for you here. Overall, this is a highly recommended spot to savor and enjoy the experience. ”
